Mira was born in California, USA, and spent her childhood in Tokyo, Seoul and New York. She studied fashion design at Parsons School of Design in New York and Paris. She later attended the Gemological Institute of America in London, where the concept of MYLA OSUCA brand was born. Mira remains a devoted admirer of high jewelry creations and divides her time between design work for high jewelry brands and self-initiated jewelry projects.
As a high-jewelry designer, Mira spent years distilling the essence of intricacy, patience, and exclusivity into her work. Paying homage to the uniqueness of gemstones and precision of high jewelry craftsmanship, she combines extraordinary gemstones shaped to perfection with modern design, resulting in exquisite, meticulously crafted pieces for everyday wear.
Mira’s design aesthetic has always been focused around helping women in their quest for self-fulfillment and expression of what makes them unique. The journey girls go through to become strong, independent women, while still retaining their caring feminine nature, always served as an inspiration for jewelry design and ignited the designer’s dedication to girls’ literacy cause. A percentage of sales from MYLA OSUCA jewelry is contributed to the ongoing effort of Plan International in supporting girls education and promoting equality for girls all over the world.
MYLA OSUCA’s work as a jewelry designer is about the power of creativity as well as inspiring others to pursue their dreams, resulting in enchanting, meticulously crafted pieces. We celebrate uniqueness and believe that everyone has the power to make an impact through actions, presence, and style.
